Welcome to the world of Arvandor. A place where many wolves have ended up. Some are vagabonds, some power-hungry, some are foolish and others wise. They've all ended up here at the same moment of time, breathing the same crisp air. A place where personalities clash and mesh, where hearts are broken and connections are made, where you can almost hear the darkness and feel the passions. Where will you fit in? Or do you even dare to commence this life altering adventure?

 Wandering
« Thread Started on Sept 20, 2009, 12:58am »

White paws hit the ground in a slow, almost lazy manner; the white wolf held a leaf bag in her maw, full of herbs, she had wandered into the tundra from the forests, though she had barely even noticed. Anyone who knew the fae would probably notice by the way she held herself, she wasn’t in a good mood. Not angry per-say, she was upset, with herself, and afraid of what would be thought of her. See, awhile ago, quite awhile ago at this point, in fact, Linwe and her mate had been spending some time learning about herbs, they had met a young eagle named Aremar, who had conversed with them momentarily before they were attacked by a lynx. Eol had, had the correct reaction, to attack the lynx and save their new friend, Lin, however, had done nothing. Why? She didn’t know, she had just not reacted at all, she had wanted to… But something had been stopping her.

The fact that she couldn’t explain her own actions, or lack there of, made her afraid to face her mate again. Eol had taken off with the lynx that had been killed and took it back to the dens, while Lin just went back to looking for herbs. What else could she do? She didn’t want to face Eol again, not yet. ‘What are you doing, Lin? He’s your mate! What are you so afraid of?! No one died, of course he’ll forgive you!’ This was true, but at the same time, if he was angry with her, that would be much, much worse. Linwe wasn’t one to care about what others had to say about her, but with Eol… It was different; his opinion meant everything to her.

Closing her sightless eyes, Lin slowed to a stop and sat down, dropping her bag of herbs into the ground. What was she even doing? She wasn’t going anywhere, just mindlessly collecting herbs; she didn’t even want to go back to the dens, so what was the point of the herbs? Sighing heavily Lin laid down on the ground and rested her head on her paws, a couple of tears sliding down her cheeks. Part of her just wanted to go to sleep and not wake up again, it would be so much easier to do that, wouldn’t it? Then facing this thing called life? But no, that would be the easy way out, and Lin had never taken the easy road. Closing her eyes, Linwe allowed herself to drift off into a light sleep in an attempt to escape her problems that may, or may not be there.

Eöl was tired, yet he kept pushing himself. He hadn't really slept too well last night, and he'd been travelling for awhile. He had to find Lin though..."I don't care what I told Arwen...I'm not returning until I find her." he snarled to himself, golden orbs narrowed. 'This is a desolate place...' he thought, scanning the tundra. He let out a low, mournful howl, hoping that it would reach Lin, wherever she was. Eöl's anger towards her from the night before had evaporated quickly. He sighed, collapsing in the snow. He exhaled and his breath came out in wisps. Eöl looked at the snow and took a mouthful, shuddering slightly. It did little to quench his thirst.

Suddenly he caught sight of a blurred object, treading slowly through the snow. He squinted, thinking it was a fox or a hare. His stomach rumbling, he got up and started at a trot, gaining slowly on it. He gapsed, though he didn't know why until a moment or two later. Eöl's orbs widened, and he let out a yelp of joy that became strangled at the back of his throat. "LIN!" he howled, barreling at her. He stopped a few feet from her, accidentally splattering with snow. He tackled her joyfully, though a little too forcefully; it sent both wolves rolling. When they had stopped, Eöl had Lin pinned. His ebony coat now had clumps on snow in it, but he didn't care. "Lin..." he murmured, nuzzling her and licking her wherever he could reach.

"I was so worried about you!" he growled, his voice low as he buried his face into her chest, taking in her scent. He whined quietly, his ears backed as he moved away from her. "Why didn't you go to the dens...?" he asked, his voice somewhat pleading. Another whine escaped his maw and he pressed up against Lin as she got up. "I...I thought something had happened to you. I'd sent Aremar off to look for you earlier...I was so worried Lin!" He stopped talking, just gazing at her, happy that she seemed okay.

The sound of a mournful howl caused the femme to stir slightly and she frowned, there was something familiar about the voice that had howled, however she was still to far asleep to really put her paw on it. Perhaps she had been more tired then she had let herself believe. Curling up more in the fluffy white substance that surrounded the fae, known as snow, Lin curled her tail over her nose in attempt to go back to sleep. However, before she had a chance to resume her resting, the presence of another alerted her, but the presence wasn’t a threatening one, it was actually quite comforting in a way. Lin knew it was another wolf, and she groaned, she really didn’t want to deal with someone else right now…

LIN!” Linwe barely had time to lift her head to the familiar voice before a heavy form collided with the blind fae, sending them both tumbling back into the snow. “ACK!” She called out, coughing a couple times as they stopped. Blinking her milky eyes a couple of times Lin frowned a little, bopping her mate on the nose gently with her paw. “I was trying to sleep thank-you-very-much” She teased but grinned a little, she was happy to see him despite. As he started to lick and nuzzle her she started to giggle/laugh and squirm under him. “E-Eol! Stop that!” She hissed, attempting to push his face away with her paw. Secretly, she was glad no one was watching.

As he exclaimed that he was worried about her, a small frown formed on her maw. “I’m sorry, Eol…” She muttered softly and gave his cheek a gentle lick before nuzzling him lovingly. As he moved off of her, Lin sat up and shook some of the snow that had clumped in her already snowy fur, giving her pelt a couple of licks. At his question, the blind femora sighed softly. “I… Decided to go get some more herbs… And lost track of time” She half-lied, it wasn’t the whole reason, but it was part of it.

As he talked about how worried he was about her, she smiled sadly and licked his forehead gently, then frowned. “What, did you think I couldn’t look after myself?” She joked with a soft huff before smiling at him. “I’m kidding, I’m sorry I made you worry…” She wrinkled her nose a little and sighed. “I guess… Well… I felt really bad for not helping you fight the lynx, I was afraid you were mad at me… So I kind of wandered off for awhile” She said apologetically and smiled sheepishly.

Giving Eol a lick on the cheek, Lin frowned a bit at the metallic taste and slightly rough texture of a half-grown scab she received from his fur. “Eol, did that lynx hurt you?” She asked, gently nosing and licking the wound on his face. The realization of his wound made Lin feel even worse then before, but she hid it. “I’m sorry… Here, I have some herbs, I’ll fix it up for you” She said and stood up, padding over to retrieve the herbs she had collected, carrying them back over to her mate. Sitting the self-made bag back down, she opened it and began to sort out the herbs she’d need and treat his wounds carefully. When she was done, she sat back and smiled at him. “There, better?

Eöl chuckled as Lin pawed at his face. "Oh then I'm sorry for waking you up," he growled with a smile, mumbling slightly as she tried again to push his face away. Sitting down next to her, he gazed at her lovingly, the smile on his maw widening steadily. He nuzzled her softly once more, inhaling her comforting scent. When Lin said she was sorry, Eöl opened his mouth to protest but closed it when Lin licked and nuzzled him. He smiled and murmured, "It's fine, don't worry, please. And hey, I found a pretty nice place for an Infirmary back in the dens," Eöl chuckled slightly and yawned, feeling the gashes on his maw open up again. "Shit..." he snarled quietly.

When Lin spoke again, Eöl's eyes widened. "No, I know you can take care of yourself...!" he started to say before he noticed she was smiling. "And it's fine...it's over, okay? I just...I let my mind get the best of me when I noticed you didn't come back..." he murmured. The ebony male didn't feel like mentioning that yes, he'd been mad at her. She didn't need to know that. When she licked his cheek, he cringed slightly. "I...yes, it did." he growled quietly, trying not to pull away as she applied herbs to his wounds. "I don't thin kthey're gonig to heal all the way...they're pretty deep." he sighed, exhausted, as he laid down in the snow.

"And don't be sorry. It's not your fault." he murmured, licking her. He sighed quietly in relief as some of the pain ebbed away. "Yes that feels much better." he said with a smile. The herbs felt cool on his face, and it stopped most of the throbbing.

She was pissed. Pissed at the sun. Pissed at the trees. Pissed at the snow. Pissed at her damn uncle. Anyone could have seen that they were going in the wrong direction. Anyone. But no. As far as Ameratsu was concerned, “there was no such thing as the wrong way, only the wrong attitude.” Well Jesus. She would have asked for damn directions if her uncle's decayed corpse hadn’t been scaring away everyone within a two mile radius. A dirty scowl dragged itself across her pretty, bedraggled features. Figures. My fault anyways. Everyone else had pretty birds or rodents to be their familiars.

She had a posthumous wolf.

Risika Lairelithoniel plowed her white body miserably through the thick snow, squinting her silver eyes against the reflecting sun bouncing off the drifts. Her tail firmly tucked in between her legs, she let out a angry snort. No. She wasn’t going to howl for entry. No. She didn’t care if she was ripped apart. Nope. She was in the territory of her aunt. She could smell that. And in tow with her aunt’s dead mate, who was now clearly visible.

She was going to be killed.

A low chuckle drifted from behind her and tickled her keen ears. Dear Jesus. If Risika’s eyes could roll back any farther, they would pop out. ”What…….! Do you want?” The white female snapped irritably to the wind, refusing to turn around. Her eyebrows furrowed. Was there a way to ditch him? The males voice, soaked in velvet and honey, rolled across her erect ears again. ” I think we’re in the right spot. Stay here. I see wolves.

At the last word, his sensuous voice turned into a hiss; it was probably intended to get her attention.. which only really succeeded in pissing her off more. ”Seriously Ammy! I’m sick of your voice and company. GOD!” She stiffened her legs and shot in the air, turning in a circle and landed facing him, powder flying. ”And you SMELL!!” She shrieked, her hackles raised.
