Welcome to the world of Arvandor. A place where many wolves have ended up. Some are vagabonds, some power-hungry, some are foolish and others wise. They've all ended up here at the same moment of time, breathing the same crisp air. A place where personalities clash and mesh, where hearts are broken and connections are made, where you can almost hear the darkness and feel the passions. Where will you fit in? Or do you even dare to commence this life altering adventure?

Gentle raindrops fell from the sky, soaking the rough ground and creating small streams that weaved between the gravel, pooling in places it could go no further. In this almost lifeless rocky incline walked a single figure, he did not take cover from the rain as the other animals that lived there did, in fact, he seemed unaffected by the light rain that soaked his coat as he made his way almost gracefully through the mountainous terrain, as though he had been doing it all his life, and technically, he had. In his mouth, the male figure held a small bouquet of flowers, the colors were vibrant and the most colorful thing one could spot almost as far as the eye could see. The brute himself was made up of earthy tones, browns blacks and whites, mostly. He was a mix of both of his parents, and of that he was proud.
The brute’s name was Lucilan Lútëfí, though he usually preferred to be called Lucifer, his chosen nickname from when he was just a pup, unfortunately, his single sibling liked to shorten it into Lucy, which was an easy way to get on his nerves. As the brute climbed higher up into the mountains, the air began to get cold, turning the rain to a light fluffy snowfall and a light layer of mid-autumn snow covered the rocks, causing Lucifer to leave paw prints in his wake as he slid between a couple of rocks, starting to head in a rightward direction instead of straight up like he had before.
After several more minutes of walking the brute slowed to a stop at what appeared to be a pile of rubble covered in a light dusting of snow. Placing the small bouquet of flowers he’d brought on the cold ground, Lucifer let out a soft sigh and stared at the pile of rocks for a moment before turning around and dusting off the snow with his tail. When he was finished he turned around and a small, sad smile graced his maw, but only for a moment before his expression turned serious once again. Leaning down, Lucifer began to pick up some of the surrounding rocks around the pile that looked as though they had fallen astray with his mouth and placed them back atop the pile. ‘Stupid insignificant animals, can’t tell a grave when they see one’ The thought echoed in his head as he cleaned up the rubble and returned it to a neat pile.
When he was finished, Lucifer picked up the small bouquet of flowers and placed it on top of the rocks and sat back to look at his work, he was happy with it, however he wasn’t smiling, instead, his brows creased in a frown. ‘Why did you leave me, mama? Was it something I did? If I make it right, will you come back to me?’ He frowned more as a strong wind blew through, making him close his eyes and back his ears. The cold wind and small ice specs hurt as they pelted his face, making him turn away from the wind. When he looked back, the brute’s eyes widened slightly, the wind was blowing his flowers away. “No!” He called out and began the chase after the fleeing colorful plants.
Lucifer chased the flowers nearly halfway down the mountain before he finally gave up and collapsed on the ground, a soft sob escaping his maw. Why was life so cruel? He had to know, what had he done wrong, to deserve this? Curling up in a ball on the rocky mountain side, Luci closed his eyes and wished for sleep as the light rain continued to pelt him from above, hiding his tears; however, sleep would not be gracing him in this moment.
Nostariel was curled up asleep between two rocks when something larger than a rain drop hit her back, it was a flower. She grabbed in in her mow as it rolled off her back. Why were there flowers up here at this time of the year? She soon found her answer, her brother was led on the rocks above her. She stood and shook as much rain as she could from her pelt and padded up to him and placed the flower beside him, sat down and looked out onto the great landscape before her.
She smiled "It's beautiful, isn't it?" She knew that once upon a time her mother lived in those forests, beside that lake. She and her brother had lived on the mountain all their lives and were yet to experience life on the ground. Plus side was she was used to less oxygen and so her and her brother would have more stamina and strength than those down there. "I want to go down there, I want to meet other wolves" She told her brother confidently.
She knew her mother was only trying to protect her when stopping her from seeing others but now her mother was gone she would have to make her own decisions. Her mother was gone, she had spent months crying but it was time for that to end, for her to look forward and not behind. She turned to Lucifer "Wanna come with?" She asked hopefully. She didn't want to lose him too. On the mountain it was easy enough to track him down but in the big green world before her? She would have enough trouble finding herself.
The sound of claws scraping rock made Lucifer’s ears perk slightly, he knew those footsteps well, his little sister had found him again. ‘Ugh… Why can’t she just leave me alone?’ He thought with a soft, annoyed growl. Sure, Lucifer loved his sister; she was his family, so how could he not? But she was annoying, when he just wanted to be alone; she was always there with her nose in his business. He had entertained her clinginess up until this point, but she was trotting on his last nerve. When he felt her drop something beside him, Lucifer lifted his head and looked down at the small flower that his sister had dropped beside him. Sighing softly, Lucy nudged the flower gently and sniffed a little, rubbing the tears and rain off his face with his paw before looking up at Star again.
When she spoke, Lucifer allowed his eyes to shift to the view of the open highlands bellow and the forest further on then that. “Suppose…” He mused, his deep voice barely reaching above a whisper. His voice had deepened only recently with the approach of his maturity, his two year mark was coming quickly, two years and he hadn’t left this stupid mountain once. Yeah, he wanted to leave, but he was afraid, afraid of what was bellow, without his parents protection, how would he fair? Would he be able to survive on his own? What about other wolves, how would they react to him? “I don’t” He auto-replied to his sister as she stated that she wanted to leave the mountain, he had spoken even before she had finished and had spoken without thinking.
Frowning Lucifer stood up and shook the water from his coat, spraying the raindrops everywhere. Sitting down beside his sister he looked out at the view and frowned slightly, what was down there? Yes, he was curious, but was it really worth it? Couldn’t he just stay here the rest of his life, with his mom and dad? Lucifer sighed, his eyes half closed in a bored expression, he really just wanted to be alone. When Star spoke again, Lucifer looked down at her out of the corner of his eye, her hopeful expression was taunting him, he gripped his heart and tugged, urging him to say yes. “No” The word was slightly forced, however it didn’t show.
Standing up Lucifer turned his back to the view of the changing landscape and began to walk up the mountain again. He had now clue where he was going, he was just… Walking, and hoping that Star would decide against following him, though he knew better.
Her head hung and her ears flopped forward, why didn't he want to explore the world he had always been prevented from seeing. Sure it could be ugly, cold, evil but it would give them a greater appreciation of the ugly, cold and not so evil mountain they lived on. Then again it could be wonderful down there, there could be friendly wolves, nicer food and warmer dens down there and he couldn't chance it? Then he refused her offer to accompany her down there 'He doesn't care' she thought miserably.
She looked at him as he walked away, she followed for a few steps then stopped her face crumpled with anger. "Fine! If you want to stay here wallowing in your own self pity so be it! If I die down there because you refused to come with me then it's your fault!" She shouted out the back of his head and turned to face down the mountain stomped slowly away from her brother.
As she did she muttered loudly to herself "Stupid brother, he doesn't freaking care, never did. Don't deserve such a sucky brother, I will go find a new one. yeah. He will be big and strong and always protect his little sister." She stopped "Waaaaahhhhhh, uhhgg, waaaaaahhh. I JUST WANT LUCY!" She sobbed. But she knew she would never be free if she didn't go now, he would hold her back forever. She didn't know if she should run back to him or go explore. She sniffed and pawed away the tears.
She knew he wouldn't leave the mountain, or would he? Chances where he wasn't, so she could aways find him again? Right? With that thought she sprinted down the mountain. She was going alone.
The footsteps of his sister following him made Lucifer sigh and close his eyes; she just didn’t give up, did she? He really wished she’d just leave him alone, yes, he wanted to wallow in his own self pity, it didn’t want to leave the mountain, and he didn’t care what was down there. At least that’s what he told himself. When Star began to yell at him, Lucifer’s ear twitched back, however he didn’t turn to look at her. “If I die down there because you refused to come with me then it's your fault!” The brute’s lip rose in a sneer and a low growl rumbled in his chest. How dare she even… He wheeled around to snap at her; however his eyes lay only on her retreating form. His facial expression turned from angry to confused in a split second, was his sister actually going to leave without him?
As she walked away muttering words he couldn’t hear, Lucifer frowned slightly, he never thought his sister would actually leave without him; perhaps this would be the day he could finally be alone, without having to worry about Star. Her words echoed in his head again and he frowned angrily, she was a grown wolf, it was no longer his job to look after her every second she was awake, if she couldn’t look after herself then that was her issue. When Star began to cry loudly for him Lucifer rolled his eyes and growled softly, he was not going to go after her, it was time for her to go off on her own, maybe find some new friends so she’d stop bothering him.
Turning away from the direction Star had gone; Lucifer began to pad up the mountain, grumbling to himself. He was glad to be alone now, but at the same time, part of him was worried about his sister. ‘Quit worrying about her, she’ll be fine’ He told himself angrily and sniffed slightly. His coat was heavy with water, but not nearly as heavy as his heart. He’d been abandoned by the last of his family, and though he didn’t want to admit it, that hurt.
It took the brute only a few minutes to make his way up the mountain to the spot where their old den had been, where his mother had been killed in the den’s collapsing, and where he had attempted to leave flowers not long before. Sighing heavily, Lucifer flopped down on the pile of rubble and laid his head on his paws, what was he going to do now? A snowflake landed on his nose and he frowned slightly, rubbing it off with his paw as it melted. He really wished it’d stop raining/snowing; it was beginning to get on his nerves. Curling up into a ball to keep warm, Lucifer buried his face into his fluffy tail and closed his eyes, allowing his mind to wander as he dozed slightly.
Another long hike, back to the free lands it seems. Where it all began, where great things will always happen. But these parts of the free lands were much colder than in the forest area, and Rapture wasn't suited for cold weather. Though his breed wasn't meant for mountainous climate, it never stopped the brute. Kid was right behind him, Rapture assumed. His front left leg still left a trail of blood, and a hobbling effect occurred half way through their journey. Rapture was older, and he had an injured leg, so what if he was limping. He did it to himself.
Continuing on, not a peep said the whole way. It was rather an awkward bundle the two psychos were, Kid's cannibalistic behavior was new and interesting to Rapture, and that is why the Mexican wanted the Canadian to join his party. The bitter cold winds swirling around his wound made it sting like hell, but Oh~ He loved it. Pausing where the monster stood, his nares inhaling the brisk air in one solid snort. "Kid, I do believe we got some fresh meat nearby." Rapture said jokingly, and trotted on forth towards the source. A lone wolf, not much bigger than himself laid in a pile of small rocks. A smirk marred his bloody face as he licked his lips. Rapture loved to torture, and this wolf was alone. Well look at that.
Rolling his eyes and shaking out his fur, Rapture approached the brute with an innocent smile. "Hey there little fella." Rapture cooed and gritted his teeth together. "Whatcha doin' out here all by yourself? It's getting chilly you know." A short spree of excitement left Rapture standing and shaking in anticipation. He didn't know what to do with the wolf, it wasn't sex, and it wasn't torture. What was this excitement about? Playing maybe? Who knew, and Rapture would soon find out. "Kid, doesn't he look adorable? Couldn't you just eat him up? Aww... Heh heh..." Rapture stared at the brute with a smile, and for once it wasn't threatening. 'This could be fun.'
Paws traversed chilled earth, body unaware of the plummeting temperature. These cold, rocky lands were not much different from the ones he'd grown up in. Tongue lolled lazily from his open mouth, the long journey seeming twice as tiring considering he was bored stiff. Rapture's ideas of fun did little to peek Kid's own interests. So far they'd done a lot of walking and harassed a bunch of fools, only to be followed by more walking. His gate was slow as he followed the limping brute, face a mask of boredom. Jarenien was just not used to so much down time.
It didn't help that Rapture was such a silent bastard. Of course, the Canadian wasn't exactly a brute of many words either. Still, a million questions buzzed through his mind that would not be spoken aloud. He just didn't see it as the appropriate time to ask questions. He needed to get to know the fiend first. Only then would he be able to ask blunt questions about experiences he'd never wished to try.
"Kid, I do believe we got some fresh meat nearby." The words suddenly broke through his consciousness, drawing his attention to a scent that must have been attached to the echoing cry he'd heard before. Canadians were known for their hearing, not that the young fae whining about her family had done much to keep herself a secret. He'd only ignored the sound earlier because he was currently tracking Ruscion. Plus, it was much less fun to hunt those who willingly invited death.
Regardless, Kid licked his lips at the thought of a meal. His appetite was at times insatiable, the prospect of a snack exciting. Glistening fangs peeked from beneath a deadly smirk as his pace increased, a natural sway influencing the motion of his tail. Mischief danced in his eyes as a sad little brute came into view. This would be easy; this would be fun. As he listened to Rapture's words, however, his expression dropped a little. The cannibal jokes were getting a bit old. He just didn't see what the big deal was concerning his dietary choices. The brute shoved that line of questioning away for later, however, instead preparing himself for a new roll as he dared to approach the forlorn child.
Smirk dropped to a friendly grin as he pranced around their prey, eyes absorbing detail of the stranger. He looked like such a sweet, innocent boy. Wicked thoughts danced in his mind as he drew too close and sloppily ran his tongue up the Valasse's cheek in a comforting manner. "He's delicious," Kid purred, taking a step back. His eyes lingered on the younger brutes form a moment longer before sliding over to catch Raptures. His thoughts echoed the Mexican's to a T. This would indeed be fun. They'd found themselves a precious little doll lost in the snow. "Cheer up sport. Stick with us and we'll teach you to have a little fun, make you into a real brute. You wanna do your loved one proud, don't ya?" His forepaws rested on the rubble gravestone as he innocently stared down at their new toy. Fun indeed.
